Unlike mechanical scribing with cutting wheels, the laser scribing method does not require any further processing steps such as grinding or washing.<\/p>\n<p>Advantages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maximum yield with minimum scrap<\/li>\n<li>Thin glass (from 100\u00b5m) with high yields<\/li>\n<li>precise and clean cut edge with highest edge strength (break resistance)<\/li>\n<li>optical glass edge quality<\/li>\n<li>no micro cracks or chipping<\/li>\n<li>no material loss during or after the cutting process<\/li>\n<li>No glass dust particles, therefore suitable for clean room conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A focused laser beam selectively heats the glass &#8211; followed by a jet of cold air or an air-liquid mixture.
